AN OWNER'S LEADERSHIP
Chick Lumber’s owner, Sal Massa worked his way “up the ranks” of Chick Lumber since he and his young family of six moved from Greater Boston
to the Mount Washington Valley in 1998. Sal combined his genuine caring for his clients, many years of sales and business experience and Chicks’
“best in the business” operations staff’s abilities to deliver products and projects “on budget and on time”. In the early years, Sal grew Chicks’
floor covering division to one of the largest and most respected in New Hampshire and Maine. Sal was promoted to Contractor Sales Manager in 2006
and was named Vice President of Sales in 2009. Sal purchased the company in 2013 ensuring continued employment for many valley and western Maine
residents as well as carrying on the centuries’ old tradition of Chick Lumber’s legendary service in New Hampshire and Maine. Sal continues to
maintain a regular customer base in the Mount Washington Valley, south to the NH Lakes Region and east to Greater Portland and Southern Maine.
Sal’s ability to work hand in hand developing relationships with Chicks’ builder and homeowner customers is his biggest strength. Whether it is
consulting during the drafting and design process, helping budget for building material costs, assisting homeowners through the finish and design
process, just being there to lend a hand or offer advice during the building process, Sal has established himself as a leader in the industry and
the local community. Today, Sal lives with his wife Kim in beautiful Melvin Village in Tuftonboro, NH. His family has grown to include a total
blended family of six children Alex, Nick, Sydney, Abby, Connor, and Brady and last, but definitely not least, one adorable grandson named
Beckett. Sal’s family means everything to him. He hopes to someday turn over the reigns of Chick Lumber to his children so they can continue to
continue Chicks’ legacy for generations to come.
